Today I have a very special guest that I talk to on the segment INTO AN INTERVIEW which is also MIKE ON MOBILE because we talk to the backward but loveable CLEM!  Plus we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!  And don't worry, social media really DOESN'T represent the human race.  Thank god!

I would love it if for once if I could go to a party or a gathering where I meet people for the first time and I do NOT have to hear the question "So, what do YOU do?"  I've said it before but that is THE MOST BORING THING YOU COULD EVER SAY!  That's right, you are so devoid of anything remotely interesting if you utter that sentence!  Yes, I heard it on Thanksgiving from some guy I met for the first time.  I then had to tell him all about radio and podcasting (of course he didn't know what that was).  Ugh!!!  It's enough to make you consider a life as a hermit.  Maybe even a life as a Kermit.  Now that would be fun.  But not easy...being green.

Next show it's the return of the much loved feature and book THE MIKELOPEDIA INSANICA where we explore some interesting insane facts!  Plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!

Today I have the return of the much loved segment DO YOU KNOW DAT?  Plus we'll hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And plants hate us.  I mean they really, really hate us.

I rode the new BART to Oakland Airport connector.  It's an automated train that gets pulled along a track like a funicular.  They gave out free trips today though you couldn't get off at the airport.  It's going to be great for when I fly out of Oakland.  No parking anywhere necessary.  I can just walk from my house in PodCastro Valley, California.  Now if only Oakland flights were a little cheaper.  I'm such a winy little pod imp.

Don't get mad at me, I've put up my Christmas decorations already.  Why, Mike, why?  Well, I like it feeling like Christmas around my birthday.  See, I grew up happy that sometimes Thanksgiving fell on my birthday.  It felt like a pre-Christmas.  This year, Thanksgiving is not on my birthday.  The last time I enjoyed that was two years ago.  So in lieu of no major holiday on my birthday I'll just do up the house like it's special.  Then I'll blow out the candle on my imaginary birthday cake.  No cake, no calories to count.

My birthday is this weekend, and though it falls on a Saturday this year I think I may not be partying too much.  I think of birthdays past and I've had some good ones.  Whenever I'm with a group of people the birthday ends up being fun.  The year that two women were fighting over me was particularly memorable.  Neither one won me, though.  I'm not sure if that was a good or bad thing.

Today I have a very special guest!  It's a band from DETROIT featuring some amazing rockin' women!  I talk to guitarist MARY COBRA of the THE DETROIT COBRAS!  We also hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And Uber sucks.  Deal with it.

PodCastro Valley had it's second big annual festival this past Saturday.  We have two big street fairs on our main strip PodCastro Valley Boulevard.  We have the really big Fall Festival and then this past weekend's Meet In The Street which started after PodCastro Valley Boulevard was renovated two years ago.  This has just a few booths but then there's this parade of lights with floats and it's just so cute and down home.  And it was packed!  I brought Basil the Boxer with antlers on!  Pictures will be posted soon!  Yay, PodCastro Valley!  Let's keep doing these little fests...maybe one for the spring would be nice, too.  But I'm not being pushy or anything.

This BMI thing is really bugging me.  No, not the songwriter royalties thing, but the Body Mass Index.  I talked to someone who's fit and they told me it's not the best gauge to go by.  Yet it still torments me.  It spites me.  I will try to kick your butt, BMI.  I will degrade and diminish you.

Today I bring you PART 3 of my INTO AN INTERVIEW with the Berkeley singer IDEA THE ARTIST, plus we'll hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And do you gotta bounce?  Not if you're a comet lander.  News on that in the show.

My healthy eating class ended today.  All and all it was very informative and I met some really great people.  We had a pot luck on the last day of class which was very nice.  What wasn't so nice was seeing my BMI score.  According to what is normal, I am roughly 100 pounds heavier than I should be.  That is a long freakin' way to go.  I'm supposed to be between 160 and 180.  Well, if I ever make it there, I'll be having a big garage sale because nothing I have will fit me anymore.  I'll start making the signs.

Today I have PART 2 of my INTO AN INTERVIEW with the talented and beautiful IDEA THE ARTIST, plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!  And are those Alexander the Great's bones?  If they are...yuck!

Since Portlandia is airing a new season, they have posted the last season on Netflix.  I love it.  They do a little send up of going to concerts.  Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein go to a show, and they quick edit through all the typical concert crap one must go through: the lines, the crowds, the late late hours.  The only time they smile is when they know they're going home as a soft Sarah McLachlan-esc (she's been on Portlandia) song about home plays in the background.  I have sooooo been there!  (That "sooooo" is an extended "so" and is not an "oo" as in "book.") (Thank you.)

Today I have a very special musical guest named IDEA THE ARTIST, a fantastic local singer/songwriter whose real name is Inés Beltranena.  PLUS we'll hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!  And we also find out whey you need to get used to saying Nokia and the Dodo Bird in the same breath.

The Berlin Wall fell 25 years ago this past Sunday, and I was moved to think of two events inspired by this great historical happening.  First, David Hasselhoff playing on the wall.  He really rocked and kept people from drowning with his team of silicon enhanced women.  The second is the Roger Waters performance of Pink Floyd's The Wall forgoing his old band and using the likes of Bryan Adams, Cindy Lauper, and Joni Mitchell.  Oooo, and he had Paul Carrack there.  Paul has such an amazing voice he was in three major 80's bands: Mike + the Mechanics, Squeeze, and Ace (okay, Ace was from the 70's).  He sang on big hits like "The Living Years", "How Long (Has This Been Going On)", and "Tempted."  Alright, I'll shut up now.

Today I have the return of the much loved feature WOW SCHATZ WOW where we'll hear some interesting recent news stories you didn't know about, plus we'll hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And we'll hear from a lady that said to the state of Maine, "Screw you guys, I'm going home...to another state...because you Ebola quarantined me and you're a bunch of hypochondriacs."

When someone on the street is asking you for money, the first thing they ask is, "Excuse me, sir!"  Yeah, I'm not falling for that trick.  Hearing those three little words only makes me walk faster.  But Mike, those people are in need and what if you needed help and blah blah blah.  You're right.  I'm just pointing out the conditioning society has given me.  That a certain three word sentence has been used so many times in this situation it has created an almost involuntary response.  This also works with people selling skin lotion crap from kiosks at the mall.

Next show I'll have a very special musical guest named IDEA THE ARTIST, a fantastic local singer/songwriter whose real name is Inés Beltranena.  PLUS we'll hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!

Wow I hate buses.  I never realized how much till today.  Oh, and the Google Maps app doesn't work for s#*@ in trying to figure out bus routes.  Back to the drawing board on that one, guys.  Yeah, you torch Apple with the GPS driving app but transit mode's a bust.  Now, on with the show.

My healthy eating class went on a field trip to the local grocery store today and a nutritionist talked about various things we need to know about shopping. What's the one thing that stayed i my head? Cheerios, which I will never eat because I don't like how they just float on top of the milk until they sink and then become inedible, are full of whole grain! My nutritionist bought a box! Shocker. I like that class because one of the other nutritionists is a real hotty but I digress. And in that class we talk about what we digest! What a coincidence.

It is with heavy gluten free pumpkin bundt cake in my stomach that I realize we live in a Republican world today. Not here in the Bay Area though, screw that! But the rest of the country has decided to blame the first black president for everything even though a little investigation would show how completely uncompromising the Republicans have been. And this, unfortunately, will be their strategy forever, since it worked. Hold your breath like a petulant child till you get what you want. All those old white men just petulant children. How lovely.

Today I have on a very special local band called CURE FOR GRAVITY whom I heard at the recent Oakland First Fridays Art Murmur. I do a MIKE ON MOBILE from their rehearsal studios! Plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster! And Taylor Swift says, "It's a greedy music business story, baby just say no" to Spotify.

The elections took place today and even Nate Silver the amazing election prognosticator said the Republicans were taking the Senate. So what? I really don't think I'll be spending the next 24 hours listening to this story since it's NOT an interesting story. Little extreme districts across this land want us to stay in the dark ages and that's what's great about America--we all get a voice. In two years, the people who stayed home today are going to be scared and shocked enough to come running out to the polls. Four years ago the tanned Boehner man had his day in the news spotlight.  Today it's Mitch the Kentucky turtle. The more things change the more things remain scary as s*#@! Oh, and the new Downton Abbey is sad. Sad for dog lovers. I explain why (mini-spoiler).
