Today it's the return of the much loved feature DO YOU KNOW DAT? where we hear interesting news items that you didn't know, plus we hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!  And stocks go crazy for a new burger restaurant.  One that has that allusive umami flavor.  You want that flavor, little hipster?  Then part your gross, fuzzy beard and suck on a salt shaker.

Though I like food as much as the next guy, I'm getting a little fed up with foodies.  All that orgasmic reaction to overpriced, over hyped food.  And throwing that term "umami" around like it was the most unprecedented discovery of all time.  "But it's not salt, Mike.  It's MSG."  Oh, okay, and it's not real music if I listen to it as an mp3.  Go eat another 10 dollar a bag of chips while listening to your Jack White vinyl.  I'll be over here listening to a ringtone from 1999.

Next show I'll have a very creative music producer named ANTHONY VERNON, plus we'll hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!

Today we hear an old interview I did over 12 years ago with a brand new BLAKE SHELTON, plus we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!  And is Facebook being like the teenager that gets a hold of the parent's credit card?

I am really being hit by memories before I go to bed at night.  Last night I thought about when my second cousin from Germany came to visit and my former wife and I took her to Yosemite.  Wow, that was a lot of driving.  You enter the park, and then you've got to drive another hour to see any of the major sites.  If you're going just for the day, get ready for some really sore butts.  I think we can all agree that soreness in that particular part of the anatomy is not entirely welcome.

Today we hear the return of the much loved segment NEWS RANDOM where we look at some very interesting news stories that you haven't heard yet.  PLUS, we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And Vampire Bat Drones?  Do those turn into Vampire Drones?  Do I need to by my movie ticket now to see a Cyborg Twilight?  (The answer to that is always no---just say "no" to bad acting!)

Yes, it's been a long time since the last "effizode."  It's been a busy couple of weeks and I was not able to take you to THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH.  Then, after a certain amount of time, self doubt took effect.  What am I doing?  Why am I doing this?  And then I realized I HAVE to do this.  I am an independent DIY podcast creator and my show is NOT heard on any radio station beforehand.  I originally championed podcasting because I thought of it as a way people could make their unique voices heard.  Then radio stations and "podcast networks" began podcasting and it made this medium less about the individual and more about the big name corporations: the ESPN sports, the Nerdist Networks, the NPR shows.  And god, why did Serial get so big when it was also from a corporate machine (This American Life aka American Public Media aka Garrison Keillor).  What about the kids in their basementS producing shows?  What about the independent podcasters?  Please listen to them first and foremost.  I have resurrected my drive to podcast!  I am doing this for the INDEPENDENT VOICE!
