Today I have a very special band on the segment INTO AN INTERVIEW!  It's CRUMB CATCHER and we talk to their three members at their special HQ in Burlington, North Carolina!  It's my first interview for 2015!  Plus we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to the measles epidemic we go!

I watched the Benedict Cumberbatch movie "The Imitation Game" last night.  Though Alan Turing's life is fascinating, this movie is kinda boring in its attempt to dumb down the material.  The movie should have just focused on how he cracked the Nazi ENIGMA code and given less screen time to his childhood or later life.   Keira Knightly is too hot to play his wife, thus making that whole section of the movie completely unbelievable.  I think I'll just read Turing's biography and try to forget the film.  My rating: Barely even a bit of a Mikey smile.

Tomorrow I'll have PART 2 of my INTO AN INTERVIEW with the BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA band CRUMB CATCHER, plus we'll hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!

MIKE's DAILY PODCAST 801 The News Show

Today, so that we may all think good thoughts for my mom who really needs them right now, I'm bringing you her inspired segment WOW SCHATZ WOW featuring some interesting news stories. Plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster.  And they've opened up a time capsule from George Washington's day.  Was the body of Icabod Crane in there and was he awakened and does he now have to fight Moloch?  Yes, I'm the only one left who still watches that.

Woah, I tried to watch "Batman and Robin" last night.  That's the George Clooney movie that almost killed the franchise...and I can see why.  I have never seen it before but I've always been curious.  Joel Shoemaker tried to direct this thing with his own wannabe Tim Burton style, but it ended up long and wasteful.  DC Comics must thank the heavens that they found Christopher Nolan.

Today it's THE FINALE of the BEST OF 2014 on the segment 2014 FOR THEE RADIO, plus we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!   And did you ask Santa for a blow up spaceship?  NASA did.  Those perverts.

Hey, big news!  This past weekend I began my first show on an Internet radio station called Country Crossroads Radio Dot Com.  It's put on by this great guy named Josh and the music is a huge variety of Country music.  As you know, I was on KHAY in Ventura County for over a decade from the early 90's to the early 00's so I got to know that music really well.  Plus I listened to it a lot as a kid.  You can hear me and a huge swath of our Country music heritage from 2pm to 7pm Eastern time on Saturday and Sunday.  That being said, no Country on today's podcast.  But it is always welcome!

Today we hear PART 3 of the best of 2014 on 2014 FOR THEE RADIO!  Plus we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley!  And dang you Apple iOS for eating my smart phone alive!

VH1's "I Love the 80's" was a show I often watched back when I had cable.  Well, I don't have it now, but I did have access to cable over the past couple of days and I watched the newly minted "I Loved the 2000's."  First off, I have called it and will forever call that decade THE OH's.  Second, as funny as that show can be, they rely a bit much on praising every single rap song and destroying ever single adult contemporary song.  If the song ever played on a station with John Tesh on it, it deserves to be atom-bombed.  Though part of me agrees with that I think they lay waste to some decent tunes.  Oh, by the way, "I Hate the VH1."  Is that a show?
