MIKEs DAILY PODCAST 704 the Country Music Show

Country Music.  I worked on a Country Music Station for 11 years and then was the program director for a station in the deep South.  I listened to Country during the huge surge it had in the early 80's where crossover acts like Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson were heard all over the place.  Oooo, and the Bellamy Brothers.  Remember them?  Then I actually started working on Country radio during the next big "Young Country" surge of the early 90's.  Never could make a pair of jeans look good on me, though.  So I don't know how Country that makes me.  Durn it.

Today we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer, PLUS it's the return of the feature INTO AN INTERVIEW where I speak with the fascinating Country Singer from Sweden called HICKS who has written for a myriad of 80's rockers!

Tomorrow I'll have the finale of my INTO AN INTERVIEW with Country Singer/Songwriter HICKS, plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!

Oh, entertainment!  We all love to be entertained.  We all love movies.  We all love television.  No?  We all don't?  Some of us hate the pervasive formulaic movies that hit our local overpriced movie theaters?  Some of are turned off by the shows we see on the boob tube?  You mean we're all different and unique?  Grand.

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley, PLUS it's some interesting WOW SCHATZ WOW news from Hollywood and the world of entertainment!

ON the next MDP we'll have a very special guest from SWEDEN!  His name is HICKS and he's written songs for some big ROCK artists that I'm fans of including Jim Jamison of SURVIVOR, Bobby Kimball of TOTO, Dan Huff of GIANT, and Jeff Scott Soto of JOURNEY!  Plus we'll hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer!

So today's show is dedicated to the kids and the tweens.  Did you know that they're the future?  Did you know they're growing up in a strange, strange world that hardly compares to the one we grew up in?  Actually, I'm a little jealous.  They have smartphones.  They have movies to watch while they're parents are driving.  They have robots.  Well, not yet, that's going to be their kids that have that.  Now that's gonna be a wacky world!  Can't wait.
