Today it's the return of the much loved feature MATTHEWS NEWS with some interesting recent stories, PLUS we'll hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer! AND the oil companies are on a spending spree now that gas prices are so low? Huh?

I don't follow baseball. I really don't care. I watched the last game (most of it) and I'm not going to be a johnny-come-lately and cheer on a team in the last five minutes of a season. But today as I was walking Basil the Boxer I saw a bunch of Giants fans heading to BART to go to the City to see the parade, and they are just the nicest people. Maybe they're so nice because they're so happy. At any rate, yellow and black tennis shoes look cool, I've discovered. You're welcome.

Next show I'll have on a very special local band called CURE FOR GRAVITY whom I heard at the recent Oakland First Fridays art show. I will be doing a MIKE ON MOBILE from their rehearsal studios! Plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!

Today I have the return of the very special guest known as CLEM on the segment MIKE ON MOBILE where we have a very bizarre little interview covering things going on today. Plus we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley and where the hell the oceans came from originally. Yeah, I know you were wondering.

Car problems. I've gotten by for 4 years without any and now I gotta bring mine in for a bizarre reason: I can't put gas in the tank. The pump handle always pops off. By the sound of it this is going to be a several hundred dollar fix. This is always my luck. My sweet miserable luck. Love you luck. And hickory.

It's interesting when a certified nutritionist tells you that milk is bad for you and that we don't need it since our body only needs it when we're babies.  But what about the daily food plate that the government said is what we should follow?  It says we need at least one serving of dairy a day.  The Dairy Industry, Mike!  Oh.  And there would be a massive national uproar if the government told us to stop eating cheese.  It would be a National Cheese Incident.

Today we hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster, PLUS it's the return of the much loved feature THE MIKELOPEDIA INSANICA where we look at some interesting recent news stories.

The Fall TV Season continues on and dang that Sleepy Hollow for sucking me in.  The first three episodes are so creative and dark in a Disney sort of way (except for the Kindred, the Franklyn-stein monster from last night and other dismemberments).  I'm also loving, of course, Doctor Who and the last episode which involved an Orient Express in space...and a mummy.  I love TV shows that use CGI in a better way than even movies are doing because at least they put some interesting twist on it.  That's my "who cares?" review.

Today we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer, PLUS it's the return of the segment INTO AN INTERVIEW where I talk with the cool local San Francisco WORLD MUSIC trio called STRING QUAKE!

Tomorrow it's the return of the much loved feature THE MIKELOPEDIA INSANICA where we'll look inside the amazing book for interesting true stories about our world!  Plus we'll hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster!

What the heck?!? I've caught poison oak again!  This time it's a little bit on my left arm.  Oh, the perils of living in the East Bay and going hiking with your dog.  The trick is not to scratch it because once you do it explodes and gets the rest of your skin irritated.  I usually try to ignore it till it goes away.  At some point I'll develop a tolerance but till then I'm fighting the urge to itch.  What fun.

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino, and Bison Bentley, PLUS it's the return of the much loved feature DO YOU KNOW DAT? where we look at some interesting recent news stories.

I haven't been to a "haunted house theme park attraction local actors dressed in scary make up and yelling at you" thingy in a long time.  I went this past Saturday to one in Pleasanton near me hear in PodCastro Valley.  It was a hoot!  Or maybe it was a boooooo....t?  The best part was at the end of one of the haunted houses (there were six) there was a small flashlight they give you and I come around a corner and a small woman in scary clothes and make up yells at me "GIVE ME YOUR FLASHLIGHT!"  That scared and amused me.  So enjoyable.

Today we hear from Benita, the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, and the Brewmaster, PLUS it's the first CEO we've ever had on the show!  Today on my INTO AN INTERVIEW I talk to WADE LAGRONE, the CEO and founder of the amazing social booking platform called RABBL dot com that is revolutionizing the music industry!

Should businesses be allowed to have volunteers work for them if they're also being taught?  No, I don't think so since I am someone who had to prostitute myself like that to get into radio.  The winery near where I am here in PodCastro Valley is in a big national controversy over this and a lot of talk radio stations are taking its side.  Though I initially took it's side my logical side kicked in and kicked me in the face so now I'm saying their side is lame.  Now, on with the show.

Today we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer, PLUS it's the return of the much loved feature NEWS RANDOM where we hear some interesting stories about our world that I have pulled from various newspapers that line your bird's cage.

So sad to hear Jan Hooks has passed.  She was on Saturday Night Live back when I was young and shouldn't have been hanging out at home watching Saturday Night Live.  One of her best skits was where she kept saying "I vant to be alone" but I can't remember who she was imitating and I can't find it on you tube.  At any rate, she was fun to watch on that show.  She left us too soon at 57.  I knew she wasn't doing well when she showed up on a recent SNL tribute to their women players and she did her entire skit from her bed.  She was still funny even then.  Jan, thank you for the laughs!

Tell your friends about the wonders of podcasts.  This is a growing amazing industry.  I recently heard a nice way of describing it: Original, on-demand audio content.  That's what it is.  And people like me are trying to bring it to you daily and in a timely context.  It's up to you now, then, to pick up this test tube and continue the experiments till we get the perfect scary blob monster that will eat all your friends while making out at the local drive-in theater.  This analogy just went off the tracks.  I'm amazed how long it took till it did that.  Quite surprised.
